Indra Devi

Born in Riga (Latvia) as Eugenie Peterson (1899–2002), Indra Devi (as she became known) was an early disciple of Krishnamacharya and became an internationally renowned yoga teacher.

She moved to Argentina in 1982, and was elected president of honour of the International Yoga Federation and the Latin American Union of Yoga.

One of Indra Devi’s students, Richard Hittleman, became well known in the 1970s through his TV appearances in the USA.
